Dean of Student Life Janina Montero has accepted the post of vice president for campus life and student services at Brown University, as of January 1. At Brown she will have duties similar to those she has fulfilled at Princeton, and in addition she will assume responsibility for Brown's admissions and financial aid processes in July 2000. As Princeton's senior officer of student affairs since 1993, Montero has had responsibility for noncurricular aspects of undergraduate life, including orientation, student organizations and discipline, as well as for Princeton's International, Third World and Women's centers. She was the first of Princeton's deans to formally oversee the work of the offices of Athletics, Health Services and Religious Life, and to assume policy responsibility in matters involving undergraduate housing and dining services.
